## Questions & answers

**Q: What kind of warranty or support is offered if I encounter any issues with the Ruby-GR5B-CharcoalTray, like a manufacturing defect?**

It's crucial to retain your proof of purchase. If you experience any issues, you should first contact the retailer you purchased it from, as they can usually facilitate warranty claims or provide direct support, referencing the SKU and product name for faster service. See our warranty page for coverage details.

**Q: What's the best way to clean these 304 SS grates and the charcoal tray after I've used them for both charcoal and wood smoking?**

For the 304 SS grates of the Ruby-GR5B-CharcoalTray, the best practice is to brush them while they're still warm with a good quality stainless steel grill brush. For stubborn residue, a degreaser or a paste of baking soda and water can be effective, followed by a thorough rinse. The charcoal and wood burning tray should be emptied of ash once completely cooled, and then wiped down or washed with soap and water as needed, ensuring it's fully dry before its next use to prevent any moisture-related issues.

**Q: Given the price, how durable are these 304 SS grates and the charcoal tray? Will they rust quickly in a coastal environment?**

The 304 Stainless Steel used in these Cooking Grates for Ruby Grills w/Charcoal & Wood Burning Tray is a high-grade, food-safe material known for its excellent corrosion resistance, especially against rust. While no metal is truly impervious to extreme coastal conditions over time, 304 SS is significantly more resilient than lower-grade stainless steels. Regular cleaning and covering your grill when not in use will significantly extend the lifespan and maintain the pristine look of your Ruby-GR5B-CharcoalTray, even in harsher environments.

**Q: I have an older Ruby 42-inch grill, but I'm not sure if it's a 5-burner model. Will these grates and charcoal tray still fit?**

The Ruby-GR5B-CharcoalTray, featuring the 304 SS grates and round inset charcoal tray, is specifically engineered for the 42″ 5B Ruby Grill. The '5B' in the SKU indicates it's for a 5-burner model, which dictates the internal dimensions and grate configuration. While some components might be similar, we highly recommend verifying your existing Ruby grill is indeed a 5-burner model to ensure perfect compatibility and avoid any fitment issues. You can usually find this information on a label inside your grill or in your grill's manual.

**Q: How difficult is it to install the Ruby-GR5B-CharcoalTray, especially for someone who isn't super handy?**

Installation of the Ruby-GR5B-CharcoalTray, which includes the Cooking Grates for Ruby Grills w/Charcoal & Wood Burning Tray, is generally straightforward. Since it's designed specifically for 42″ 5B Ruby Grills, it's more of a component swap than a complex build. You'll primarily be placing the 304 SS grates and the charcoal/wood burning tray into the existing grill frame, which usually just involves dropping them into place. We recommend having an extra set of hands just to make handling the grates easier.
